I loved collaborating with many talented artists & dancers on this ensemble film. Members of our cast & crew are part of the queer kiki ballroom scene, & were an inspiration to the design. Our design embraced the gritty layered textures of New York urban history, metallic finishes contrast with soft fabrics. There is a tension of sunset fades in our color palette, a desire & fear for the night. Playful colors dominate the characters fiercely creative worlds, contrasting with the gray, green & white of gentrification's order. A New York love story, a travel film through the boroughs, captured by the moody lens of Jomo Fray. Our color pallet waxes and wanes, transforming our hearts.

Port Authority is a love story set in New York's kiki ballroom scene, and follows Paul, a 20 year old Midwesterner, who arrives at the central bus station and quickly catches eyes with Wye, a 22 year old girl voguing on the sidewalk. After Paul seeks her out in secret, an intense love between them blossoms. But when Paul discovers Wye is trans, he is forced to confront his own identity and what it means to belong.
